What is the difference between full time, part time, and PRN employment?
An employee is considered full time if they work 30 hours or more per week. Full time employees are eligible for benefits. An employee is considered part time if they work less than 30 hours per week. Part time employees are eligible for IPERS, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and vision coverage. Lastly, if a person is employed as PRN, it means that they are employed on an as needed basis.
Please note that Story Medical has policies in place detailing the minimum amount of hours that a PRN employee must work within a specific time frame in order to maintain their PRN status.
