HR Green Company announced that it has selected Nevada, Iowa, for the location of its newest Windsor Manor Assisted Living Community. The Windsor Manor facility in Nevada will be located on the new Story County Medical Center South Campus, just west of the medical center.
“We are very pleased to hear that HR Green has announced their intent to build an assisted living unit in Nevada,” said Story Medical Administrator, Todd Willert. “We have been working with the company to get the project initiated, as we know how important it is to Eastern Story County.”
StoryCounty Medical Center’s Board of Trustees has been proactively collaborating with HR Green Company to locate the proposed Windsor Manor Assisted Living Facility on the new Story Medical South Campus since early last year. In September of 2009, Story County Medical Center Board of Trustees entered into a land purchase option agreement with HR Green for the future construction of an assisted living complex.
“Several of our board and community members have toured HR Green’s existing facilities,” said David Anderson, Chairman of the Story County Medical Center Board of Trustees. “We were impressed with what we saw and their philosophy in providing services, and the Board encouraged them to choose Nevada as a location for an assisted living complex that included Alzheimer’s care.”
“One of our goals in building the South Campus was to bring other needed healthcare services to Story County,” said Willert. “Assisted living has always been one of the most important objectives.”
StoryCounty Medical Centerwill sell 5.6 acres of their 20-acre campus to HR Green. Construction will begin in summer 2010 and the facility will open in spring 2011.
