The Story County Medical Center Endowment Foundation announced today that a date has been set for the biennial fundraising gala. ‘Some Like It Hot PINK!’ will be held on October 29, 2011, at Gates Memorial Hall in Nevada. The fundraising dinner and auction will feature a Roaring 20’s theme with live dueling pianos.
This year’s gala proceeds will go toward the growth and sustainability of women’s health services within the Story Medical system. In the past, proceeds from the Foundation’s events assisted in the purchase of a new ambulance, a bus for Story Medical Senior Care’s residents and to remodel the acute/skilled care unit. Tickets will go on sale this fall.
“We’ve had great events in the past,” said Todd Willert, Story Medical Administrator, “and we are expecting that the ‘Some Like It Hot PINK’ gala will once again show that we have tremendous support from the communities we serve.”
The gala planning committee is currently accepting silent and live auction item donations. Businesses or individuals who would like to promote their products or services are encouraged to donate to the auction. Formal sponsorship opportunities are also available for the first time this year. All tax-deductible donations can be made by contacting Melissa Miller at 515.382.7711.
