The Rotary Club of Nevada's Literacy Committee recently donated over fifteen books to Story County Medical Center’s Children’s Waiting Areas. The books were purchased by the club in lieu of speakers gifts and are donated to local medical facilities in the speaker’s name.
The donation is especially rewarding to The Rotary Club of Nevada, as the group secured a grant through the Rotary Foundation in 2010 that provided furniture, wall games, a bookshelf and library books that established the children’s waiting areas throughout the medical center.
Literacy Committee members, Ros Dunblazier and Sara Clausen, presented the books to Story Medical Communications Director, Samantha Boyd, after the weekly Rotary meeting.
“It’s touching to receive additional books for the library and know that the club members are committed to the mental wellbeing of our youngest patients and visitors,” said Boyd.
