Candy Schainker, director of activities for Story Medical Senior Care in Nevada, has been elected president of the Iowa Association of Activity Professionals. The organization brings together activity professionals from across the state for the biannual conferences, providing education from experts across the nation. Schainker will serve a two-year term on the statewide organization.
“I have been the Activities Director for Story Medical Senior Care since 1979 and have been a board member for IAAP the entire time,” said Schainker. “I am passionate about the organization and the members it serves.”
Julia Armato has been elected as the president of the Central District of the Iowa Association of Activity Professionals. Julia has been the activity director assistant at Story Medical Senior Care for the last five years. The organization provides support and continuing education for activity professionals in the district.
“I value the importance of having an organization that strives to keep its members informed of new trends in the field, as well as the ever-changing regulations,” said Armato. “I am excited to lead our district of the IAAP.”
