Story County Medical Center’s Outpatient Clinic is growing – and growing fast! In addition to a consistent increase in patient visits and operating room procedures, Story Medical welcomed two new physicians and on-site sleep studies to its outpatient clinic & surgical services department since its move to the South Campus.
On August 16th, Story County Medical Center will celebrate its one-year anniversary of the South Campus opening. Since the outpatient clinic & surgical services department made the move to the new campus, patient visits have continually increased. At the end of the fiscal year, the clinic had 28,374 patient visits. That number is up 1,479 visits from last fiscal year. The operating room has been even busier than the clinic – a 14.3% increase in procedures was reported at the end of the fiscal year.
Story Medical offers specialty clinics in the areas of general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, otolaryngology (ENT), oncology/hematology, podiatry and ophthalmology. In addition, the medical center started offering sleep studies in July and pain specialist Dana Simon, MD, and urologist Ryan Schulte, MD, began seeing patients at the clinic in August.
“We’re thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with our new physicians and bring their expertise to our patients,” said Todd Willert, Story County Medical Center Administrator. “The more services we are able to offer, the more convenient it is for our patients and their families.”
