Story County Medical Center is pleased to welcome MaryJane Applegate, RN, to the Story County Medical Center team as the new outpatient clinics coordinator.
In the newly created position, Applegate will be supporting the director of outpatient clinics & surgical services. She will assist in development and organization of the specialty clinics throughout the medical center. This includes recruitment of new specialists, meeting the needs of current specialists, management of new and existing contracts and the coordination between the surgeons’ staffs and Story Medical.
With a bachelors of arts degree in healthcare management and a plethora of experience in the medical field, MaryJane will be great asset to the surgical department. Her previous position as chief nursing officer (CNO) with Decatur County Hospital in Leon allowed her to successfully lead many nursing departments, as well as be involved in recruitment efforts of physicians. Prior to becoming CNO, she was the surgery director and has over 10 years working directly in surgical departments of hospitals both large and small.
MaryJane lives in western Jasper County. She is the mother of three children ages 13, 18 and 23. She enjoys reading, cooking, running and spending time with family. She is also an AVID sports fan and can’t wait until football season begins!
