On the heels of the addition of a primary care provider with a specialization in women’s health and wellness, Story Medical is now offering advanced care for women offered by visiting specialists Richard Dowell, DO, FACOG, and John McCarville, DO, FACOG.
The two will offer services from the outpatient clinic on Story County Medical Center’s south campus, located just off Highway 30 and 19th Street in Nevada. They will also join the medical staff of the medical center, meaning they will be able to see inpatients and perform advanced procedures including surgeries at the hospital.
The physicians began seeing patients Wednesday, June 1 and will be available for appointments each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Story Medical added a primary care provider with a focus on women’s care in May.
“We are excited to take another step forward in offering the advanced services that women in Nevada and the communities we serve want and need,” says Story Medical CEO Nathan Thompson. “With the addition of Drs. Dowell and McCarville, women have comprehensive care options available close to home.”
Drs. Dowell and McCarville will offer advanced gynecological services including surgical consultations, hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures, IUD’s and more. Both physicians are looking forward to serving Nevada and Story County.
“We have been impressed with Story Medical’s readiness to offer these advanced women’s health services,” says Dr. Dowell. “We look forward to working in partnership with Story Medical’s primary care providers.”
“This is a great partnership for the community,” Dr. McCarville add. “We are committed to providing advanced care locally and that is important. The less a patient has to travel, the better it is for them and for those who care for them.”
