Story Medical Wellness in partnership with a Community Impact Grant from the United Way of Story County is giving back to the community by offering free yoga classes and community wellness classes in exchange for non-perishable, healthy food items for food pantries in Eastern Story County.
Yoga classes will be held the first Saturday of each month, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., beginning Saturday, February 7, 2015.
Community wellness classes are currently being held at 2 p.m. every Friday and will include a variety of classes including kick-boxing, resistance training, core training, weight training and more.
Classes are held at Story Medical’s North Campus in the Board Room, 630 6th Street, Nevada.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our community members to reap the benefits that a regular yoga and exercise practice can offer,” said Meagan Ausborn-Henderson, Director of Health Promotions. “Our hope is that we will help give our community members the tools they need to develop healthy lifestyles. Our free wellness offerings will provide the necessary skills to improve the long-term quality of life of individuals and families.”
