Radiology
Story Medical Radiology Department is staffed with Radiologic Technologists who provide services 24 hours/day, seven days/week. We offer diagnostic imaging services that include computerized radiography and a multislice lightspeed CT (computerized tomography) scans. We also have a state-of-the-art c-arm to assist our surgeons in the operating room.
Story Medical also provides mobile services that include MRI scanning, ultrasound with echocardiography/stress echocardiography and nuclear medicine with SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) imaging. Our Medical Director is a Board Certified Radiologist with Iowa Radiology, P.C. Our images are interpreted daily by Iowa Radiology, who also covers Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Office hours are 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, but the Radiology staff is available for emergencies after normal business hours and on weekends/holidays.

CT Scanning at Story County Medical Center
Story County Medical Center's Radiology Department has a Lightspeed (high speed) multislice CT scanner. This technology is state of the art for CT scanning. An average CT scan takes only minutes compared to the old scanners which could last up to an hour. Story County Medical Center's CT scanner is linked to Iowa Radiology, who provides interpretation twenty-four hours/day, seven days/week. Meet the Radiology Staff
Cindy White, Director of Radiology
Cindy has been working at Story County Medical Center since January 1984. She oversees all diagnostic testing performed at the Medical Center. Cindy earned her Radiology degree along with her Associates degree at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. She is licensed as a General Radiographer with CT certification by the state of Iowa. Cindy is a member of the Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists. She is also certified by the American Cancer society to teach breast self examination. Cindy keeps up on the latest technology by completing twenty-four hours of continuing education every two years. Cindy lives in Nevada with her husband Dan and their two daughters.
Amanda Alexander, Radiologic Technologist
Amanda grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa. Amanda now lives in Nevada. Amanda has been working at Story County Medical Center since August 2004. She completed her Radiology training at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa where she earned her Radiology degree and Associates degree. Amanda is licensed as a General Radiographer with CT certification by the state of Iowa. Amanda is a member of the Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists. Jennifer Palmer, Radiologic Technologist
Jennifer has been working at Story County Medical Center since October 2005. She and her husband Bob live in Nevada. Jennifer completed her Radiology training at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa where she earned her Radiology degree and Associates degree. Jennifer is licensed as a General Radiographer with CT certification by the state of Iowa. Jennifer is a member of the Iowa Society of Radiologic Technologists. Jennifer keeps up on the latest technology by completing twenty-four hours of continuing education every two years.
